Success at the paris marathon
A huge congratulations to Liam Hanrahan for an incredible achievement! Liam recently completed the Paris Marathon, crossing the finish line with an impressive time - all in support of ‘ADS’. Like so many, Liam has experienced the devastating impact that Dementia can have on family members, friends and loved ones.
Crowds At the 2025 Paris Marathon Finish Line
This is why he decided to take on the challenge of running his first-ever marathon, the Paris Marathon 2025 on April 13th 2025 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Dementia Support (‘ADS’ Charity).
Growing up, Liam lived next door to Terrie Hall (‘ADS’s Senior Dementia Advisor). Terrie is like family to Liam, and for years he witnessed first hand the commitment, energy and incredible work Terrie and ‘ADS’ do in the local community. So now Liam decided to do a little something and try his best to raise as much as he could for ‘ADS’.
Liam commented: “It was an incredible experience to run the Paris Marathon for ‘ADS’, the crowds and supporters were amazing! It felt like a carnival at times, with bands playing and strangers shouting “Go Liam, keep on going!". It was very very tough after 30km, but seeing my friends, family and colleagues cheering me on from the sidelines at various points in the city really did keep me going when all I wanted to do was stop. I made it to the finish line in 4 hours and 3 minutes and I am so pleased to have done it in support of ADS. Now we are over 2,500 pounds!”
